| IT’S ALL ABOUT WHAT’S INSIDE YOUR BAG! “

The contents of the bag I am holding:
(1) A box of crayola – minus the black and white.
(2) An extra crayola box (cause I didn’t like to share)
(3) Paper
(4) Magnets
(5) A small vial of iron filings
(6) Extra socks (why?)
(7) String (Again, why?)
This was according to my caregiver growing up. I visited her in Iloilo, Philippines. Mila is now in her late 80′s, ailing, but still remembers the contents of that bag. Amazing!

| THANK YOU | A very personal sculpture. Last February, I gave my personal thanks to my biological parents who brought me into this world. Here they are immortalized in the language of clay, a language that came to find me. It is true, alphabets can be made out of dust. Enjoy. 00

| CORN HUSK HAT |
We drove past the last gas station and she still said, Gun it! We’ve been waiting for so long to push ourselves into space. Better days, she said. Better days from here on out. You’ve got your corn husk hat, I’ve got my camera. Skin is the new film and no one’s replied to our [...]
